Catholic Standards for Dress

Catholics, who believe that the church is the House of God and that the Blessed Sacrament in the tabernacle is the living body and blood of Jesus Christ, will show great respect in this Church by the way they behave and the way they dress.

Ladies must cover their heads while in church and are expected to dress modestly. Ladies must wear dresses, or skirts and blouses, not slacks. Hem lines must be long enough to touch the floor when kneeling and sleeveless dresses or low necklines are unsuitable attire for the reception of Holy Communion.  Slit skirts, shorts, sweats and t-shirts are not acceptable attire in the church. Tight-fitting or transparent garments are forbidden.

Gentlemen must wear modest and decent clothing in church. Men should wear dress slacks and dress shirts, preferably with a coat and tie.
